Firebush Cable Handbag – Complete and Listed

As I am still waiting on an okay from a possible buyer on another item, I decided to tackle the finishing touches to the Firebush Cable Handbag.  It’s listed over on Etsy now, after taking it over to the abandoned farmland to take its picture once or twice.  So here she is, in all her red and cabled glory………

Now I’m off to see what kind of trouble I can get into down in the sewing room.  I may have to start cutting into Bill’s sweater and see what kind of purse I can derive out of it.  :)

Happy creating!

An iPad Cover for Paper Nerds Like ME

The small trip we took this weekend totally wore me out.  Maybe it was just because it caused us to get out of sync, not sure.  So no knitting was even looked at today, but I started feeling guilty this afternoon.  So off to the sewing room I go and remembered I had just gotten in a gorgeous garden print by Michael Miller.  No time like the present, so here is the iPad portfolio for paper nerds – yes, like me!

It's got a TygerLily on it's tail! :)

Well, wish there was more to report, but there just isn’t this weekend.  There’s a few irons in the fire as usual, but no pictures.  But I do appreciate you stopping by and taking a look at what’s happening.

Are any of you paper nerds like me?  :)

Season’s Royal Messenger Bag is Complete

A hugely busy and productive day, both at work and here in the TygerLily “lab”.  A photo shoot for the first two Prairie Bags was first to get done after work, and there is a beautiful little spot on my way home where there used to be a farmhouse, but the trees still stand.  Plus it’s right across the street from our back porch.  Had it on our minds for days that it could honestly work, and it did.  The colors in the photos really do speak of who we are…..

Wanted to share that now we are real.  We are recognized by someone other than ourselves.  TygerLily’s first piece of REAL mail!

LOOK MA!! REAL MAIL!

And as I posted on Facebook last night, I really thought I could get the knitted shawl completed.  Little did I know that the bind off is very VERY lacy and…. did I mention VERY?  Oh, yeah.  It got worked on for only an hour and only about 16″ of the edge was completely off the needles.

Lacy Bind Off on Shawl

This is a LONG edged shawl!  I’m looking at many hours yet to complete it, but it’s a good start, right?  Once this baby is blocked it should be fantastic – well, we can hope right?

Thank you for looking and get ready for a wildly fun and FULL time working in the TygerLily Lab.

Crazy Like the March Hare

It’s been a fairly productive weekend as far as getting a couple more things listed in the Etsy Shop.  Here’s a couple photos of the two new sets that went up today….

Retro Brown/Pink Trio

Spring Floral Duet

I’ve put away the JournalJunction’s decoupage glue, the drying racks, and washed the paint brushes.  It’s time to go do something else, especially now that the laundry is complete and dear hubby is down for his Sunday afternoon much needed nap time.

There is a fleece baby blanket project sitting on the coffee table, with about 1/2 of the crocheted lace trim complete.  So I’m off to relax these computer tired eyes and crochet.  I’m sure there’s either “Snapped“, “Law and Order“, “NCIS“, or maybe even an old movie on TCM.  I only listen to TV, ya know.  There’s always too many other things to be doing than actually WATCHING it.  :)

My Vera Bradley knock-off note keeper with mini expandable file is still mulling around in my head as to design.  I have the perfect fabric and ribbon to complete it, but I want it JUST right.  That will take paper, pencil and a ruler – none of which will get touched today.  But really, keep watching – the picture is in my head and one day it will appear in the Etsy shop.

Happy trails to you all, until we meet again.  ENJOY!

Triple Mini’s

Thought I’d share what I put in the Etsy shop tonight…….  aren’t they cute?  :)

Springtime Trio

You know you’re going to want a set of these, or something like them.  Keep your eye on the Journal Junction!!!

Wish I had the knack for great photography, but have to accept that my talent lies in other things.  :)   I tried decoupaging fabric to those mini-composition books, and it was TERRIFIC!!!  I adore them.  And all you need is a pony tail elastic, and we’re in business.

Get the word out for me, folks!  Word of mouth works for me!

Happy creating – and may your Sunday be blessed.

Nuttin’ Special

After a few weeks of non-blogging, today you will have the ‘privilege’ of seeing how the weekend is going so far.  After a couple loads of wash, and of course playing a couple of games on Facebook, the organization and projects started to get tackled.

#1 – Shortening two pairs of pants.  One of the being jeans (which I totally HATE to shorten), and my dress slacks because God made me short.  :)   This is the before pic, but believe me the projects are complete and ready to wear.

Pants on the ground......

#2 – Got the sweaters I was going to give to Goodwill put together to recycle into purses at some point.  And I was going to give these away?  What was I thinking?

Possible Purses from Sweaters Project.... hmmm

#3 – All items from Sam’s finally put into one place for easy grabbing for my sewn planners/portfolios.  Sam’s was the BEST place to find paper products!

Portfolio Supplies just itching to be put into my planners!

#4 – Joann’s gave up all their Husker fabric to ME!!!!!!!!  na na na na naaaaaaa na

Husker Fabric is all MINE!

#5 – Gathered all the extra little flowers and blings together all ready to get ironed onto future planners.  Now they are in one spot.  Hmmmmm, one place?  Now that’s creative.  :)

Fabric Iron-On Flowers and BLING BLING!

#6 – So the sewing was organized, now that pesky drawer of baby bamboo needed a little help….  ahhh, this one felt GOOD to get done.  Here we go, BABY!

Every color of Aunt Lydia's Bamboo #10 (you know it's my fave)

#7 – Time to sew.  Only 3 planners and a few aprons were cut out and ready, so a planner got sewn while watching “Wuthering Heights“.  Now what better way to spend an hour or so, huh?

Olive and Peach Flourish Combo - Etsy Bound

As you can see, I forgot my business card yet again.  sheesh

Well, I’m off to finish a hat for a co-worker….. try and do some more on the Winter Special Olympics scarf (I’m not loving this one)…… and get my hubby safely on the road to his next gig in his newly SHORTENED jeans!  And he’d better like it, too.

Happy Creating!

Mental Health to New Determination

So my mental health and regrouping day did NOT go as planned, but isn’t that life for you?  Spent most of the day on the phone wheeling, dealing, begging and just trying to stay afloat.  Not all was good news, but it has forced a new goal and a new determination within me.  And that is to see just how far I can get in producing product with exactly what I have on hand THIS VERY DAY!  No vacations, no more days off, no more anything for the next 99 months – literally.  And if I live that long, and can still work in the real world….. I will call that SUCCESS!  Today I did finish a portfolio and while we have the ability to have fun AND internet, I shall post my creation right here…….

Dark Red and Olive Paisley Portfolio and Book Cover

…….. not bad for a bad day.  Huh?  :)

The rest of the weekend can hold nothing but UP!  And be watching for some unexpected things to be coming out of my stash in the coming year……. should I name that something creative?  Hmmm, I’ll think on that a bit.

Happy creating!
